The MBA boys hockey team had a pair of big wins last week, beating Redwood Valley last Monday night in Benson, 6-4, and then winning at Prairie Center, Thursday, 5-1.
The Storm are 3-1 in their last four games and 6-5 in their last five as they improved to 8-16 overall and closed out the Southwest Conference schedule with a 4-5 record.
Taner Gimberlin had seven points over those two games to go over 100 career points.  He had three points against Redwood Valley to reach 100 points exactly, and then added four more in the win at Prairie Center to tie with his brother, Brody, to tie for 10th place on the all-time MBA or Benson boys list.
MBA, which is hoping to earn a first-round playoff game at home Tuesday, Feb. 17, was set to close out the regular-season with a game at Wadena-Deer Creek, Tuesday (yesterday).

Gimberlin had 15 points as a freshman, 15 as a sophomore and 28 as a junior before leading the Storm with 42 points so far during his senior season.
He scored the first goal 8:56 into the game and then assisted on Corey Goff’s powerplay goal with 1:43 left in the first period (Bo Gullickson also had assist) for an early 2-0 MBA lead.
