Sade O. Ladd, age 102, of Starbuck, MN, and formerly of Benson, MN, died Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.  Private family funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23, with Rev. Rebecca Worner officiating.  Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.
Sade Ladd died Thursday morning, November 20th, at Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, MN.  She was born January 10, 1912 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Hannah (Wandersee) and William Lange.  Sade grew up in Sleepy Eye and attended Sleepy Eye High High School.  She was united in marriage to Jasper Arthur Ladd on July 29, 1932 in Emmitsburg, Iowa. 
Sade and Jasper moved to Benson in 1932 and purchased the Morris Hatchery in 1938.  In 1952, the couple purchased a farm and built their home south of Benson.  Sade worked full time at the hatchery and participated in all areas of farming including plowing, harvesting and driving trucks.  Sade and Jasper retired from farming in 1979.  They enjoyed 65 years of marriage before Jasper's death in 1997.
Sade was a member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Benson.  She and Jasper loved traveling, hunting, fishing, shell collecting and rock collecting.  They frequently brought their children, nieces, friends and grandchildren on summer trips around the United States.
Sade is survived by two daughters, Joann Janet Frantum of Pemberton and Kahla Maureen Ladd of Glenwood; nine grandchildren; 14 great granchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jasper; one daughter, Patricia Mae; one grandchild, Daniel Grote; one son-in-law; one granddaughter-in-law; and one granddaughter.
