MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777, Benson, Minnesota
 Monday, July 21, 2014 - 6:00 p.m.
Danvers Village Hall, Danvers, MN

The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. by Chair Chad Payne.  Members present:  Andy Abner, Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Bill McGeary, Al Pagel, Chad Payne and Gary Williams.
Members absent: Marlene Molden.  Also present:  Dennis Laumeyer, Mike Knutson, Dave Benson and Pam Anderson.
Routine consent agenda items were approved.
Administrative reports were presented.
The Strategic Plan was discussed.
The 2014-2015 K-6 Parent/Student Handbook was approved.
The Bullying Prohibition Policy was approved.
2014-2015 lunch and breakfast prices were approved:  Breakfast for kindergarten students is free. Breakfast for grades 1-12 is $1.15 and adult breakfast is $2.00; lunch for grades K-4 is $2.15, grades 5-12 lunch is $2.35, adult lunch is $3.50.  Extra milk remains at $0.40.  Federal nutrition requirement changes include not selling sugary foods during the school day.
The board approved the low bid of $36,069 with the current carrier Argonaut/Trident for property and liability insurance.
Donations/Grants:
$1,100 from Bemis Corporation Foundation for the John Thompson Memorial Scholarship
$3,000 from the Galen Hanson Foundation for ECFE/School Readiness Program
The board went into closed session at 7:20 p.m. to complete the annual superintendent performance review and re-opened at 7:48 p.m. Chair Payne stated Superintendent Laumeyer has more than met expectations set by the district.

The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
