Robert Lye, 97, of Benson, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.  Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2022, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson.  Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate.

Benson baseball team falls to BOLD and KMS

The Benson baseball team dropped two games last week, losing 7-1 to BOLD, Thursday night in Benson, and falling 12-0 to KMS, Friday night also on Chiefs’ Field.  The Braves, who fell to 0-3 overall, were also set to play at Melrose last Tuesday, but that game was pushed back to May 17 (doubleheader in Benson) due to weather.

Track teams both third at Benson Invitational

The Benson-KMS track and field teams opened up the season with a home invitational, Thursday night.  Minnewaska Area won the girls’ title by 75 points over runner-up Morris Area, while Morris Area won the boys title by 27 points over the Lakers.  Benson-KMS was third in both meets.

First Evangelical Free Church sponsors annual Easter egg hunt

Kids rush from the starting line Saturday morning to collect eggs during the annual First Evangelical Free Church Easter egg hunt. They turned their eggs in for candy and prizes. the church also offered a talk about the meaning of Easter for those families that wanted to participate.
