Benson girls tennis captains’ practice to start this week

Captains practice for the Benson girls tennis team is set to begin Monday, Aug. 7 from 8-11 a.m. and is set to run each day at that time through Friday, Aug. 11 for players in grades 9-12 at the Benson High School tennis courts.
This year’s captains are seniors Emma Heinzig and Grace Arnold.
The Benson girls tennis team went 16-3 overall last year and 7-1 to place second in the WCC, but the team graduated eight key seniors from last year’s team.
Only three players return from last year’s team that saw at least one match at the varsity level -- juniors Olivia Hoffman (24-1), Sophia Curriel (18-2), and Gracie Lenz (5-2).  Other returning letterwinners from last year are Heinzig and Arnold, and juniors Brenna Knutson and Anna Samuelson.

Faked Videos The Next Challenge To Democracy

Faked Videos The Next Challenge To Democracy

"Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.”

Benjamin Franklin

Founding Father Benjamin Franklin’s words are too forgiving in this digital age. It is getting to the point where we can’t trust much of what we read, what hear, or what we see. And it is going to get worse.

Trouble is we have to have faith in someone to bring us the truth so that we can make informed decisions about the quality of those who would lead us.

We need trustworthy information to make decisions about important policy decisions: Is climate change real? Should we go to war with North Korea? Do immigrants reduce wages for citizens? Will millions lose health coverage if the Affordable Care Act is repealed?
