After 46 days with below zero temps, winter 2021-22 eases

It finally looks as if western Minnesota is done with the below zero temperatures. Last Saturday’s minus 4 low was the 46th day with a low below zero during the winter of 2021-2022. 
Winter wasn’t ready to let go with a final shot of snow for the area, either. Monday morning dawned with the ground covered with nearly 2 inches of new snow, temporarily covering the crusted and dirt-laden snow of later winter.
